Legs for the Caspian Sea

Blue Water Shipping has a long history of successfully transporting project cargo to destinations worldwide, including the difficult task of transporting out-of-gauge items through the Russian river system destined for the Caspian Sea.

As part of one such project assignment, Blue Water has shipped 11,936 cbm of leg sections for a jack-up oil rig to Mariupol, UA, on the chartered vessel HLV MV Annette.

In Mariupol, Blue Water's team of stevedores, port captains and project forwarders have arrived to handle transshipment of the project cargo onto two river barges for onwards transport to the Caspian Sea.

The transshipment is estimated to take 2-3 days after which the barges will start the journey towards the Caspian Sea passing 18 locks on the way.

River barges are chartered by Blue Water Shipping in Moscow, and the coordination upon arrival to the Caspian Sea is managed by Blue Water's regional, Caspian offices. The set-up of own offices in the Caspian area, Blue Water's many years of experience, and not least dedicated people and in-house resources such as own stevedores and engineers are the main reasons for a successful handling of this type of shipments.
