On 5 October, the inauguration of the rebuilt Stadionhal (sports
hall) in Esbjerg will take place. The transformation of the old
hall into an ultramodern sports hall with room for 3,000 spectators
totalled almost DKK 60 million. Here the spectators will in
particular be able to enjoy top class men's and ladies' handball in
the Danish Premier League which is among the best in the world. The
rebuilding project is based on the men's team, Ribe-Esbjerg HH, and
the ladies' team, Team Esbjerg, which are both sponsored by Blue
Water.
The sports hall is next-door neighbour to the most impressive
football stadium in Denmark, Blue Water Arena, THE HOME GROUND OF
EFB/ESBJERG FOOTBALL CLUB WHICH IS NOW BACK IN THE DANISH PREMIER
LEAGUE.
The new sports hall will bear the name Blue Water Dokken because
Blue Water Shipping and Pedersen Gruppen, who is behind the
"Dokken" project in the port of Esbjerg, have decided to be its
name sponsors for the next three years.
This is a good solution for all parties involved - the clubs, the
sponsors and the town - says mayor Johnny Søtrup.
Bjarne Pedersen from Pedersen Gruppen is pleased with the joint
sponsorship:
"Pedersen Gruppen and Blue Water Shipping are both strongly
involved in handball in Esbjerg as joint owners of Team Esbjerg,
and it is therefore only natural to have a joint name sponsorship.
The name shows that there is a great synergy in handball.
